CS2 price data: sources and live status
Every price on CS2TradeUp.gg comes from public price feeds of Steam and eight marketplaces. This page shows where each number comes from, how often it is refreshed and, live, how old the data is right now.

Click a marketplace to open it; some of these are affiliate links, which never change the numbers. Items = how many CS2 items the feed returned on its last good read. When a feed fails, the site keeps showing its last good data and the age above keeps growing, so you can see it.
How each number on the site is made
- Where to buy (skin, knife, glove, sticker and agent pages): the lowest listing on each marketplace for that exact item, sorted from cheapest. The row marked Lowest is the cheapest one. Steam is in the same table and is usually near the bottom, because it sells for Steam Wallet funds, not cash.
- Calculator and trade up lists: Steam Community Market prices by default. Under the contract you can switch to Waxpeer, Market.CSGO, Tradeit or the lowest of the three. A skin a market does not list falls back to the next source.
- Price alerts: checked every 30 minutes against either the Steam price or the lowest listing on Waxpeer, Market.CSGO, Tradeit, DMarket or White.Market, whichever you chose.
- Watchlist: the lowest listing on Waxpeer, Market.CSGO or Tradeit, or the Steam price when none of them lists the item.
- Trending skins: the market price is the median of the lowest listing on at least 3 of 7 marketplaces (all of the above except Skinport). Only items from $1 with 15+ listings count as movers, so one troll listing cannot make a skin “trend”.
- Price history charts: the lowest Steam price seen each day, kept for 90 days.
- Trade up math (odds, float, EV, ROI): explained on the About page.
Checks against bad prices
- Fake Steam listings: a Steam price more than 2.5× the marketplace price is treated as a troll listing. It is replaced by an estimate (marketplace price × 1.45, the usual Steam premium) and marked est.
- Impossible contracts: trade ups above +300% ROI are hidden, because almost all of them come from a broken price.
- Broken data points: a StatTrak™ price below the normal one, or a Battle-Scarred price far below Field-Tested, is filtered before any contract is calculated.
- Feed alarm: we get an email when a price feed stops updating, so a broken feed is fixed instead of quietly showing old prices. The table above shows the same thing to you.
What a price here does not include
- Marketplace fees, deposit or withdrawal costs. Set the fee in the calculator to see profit after fees.
- Float, pattern, stickers or a trade lock. The lowest listing is usually the worst float of that wear; rare patterns sell above it.
- Your currency's exchange rate on the day you buy. All prices are in US dollars.
FAQ
How often are CS2 prices updated on CS2TradeUp.gg?
Steam, Waxpeer, Market.CSGO and DMarket prices are read every 30 minutes; White.Market, CS.TRADE, LIS-SKINS and Skinport every hour. Tradeit's catalogue is read in parts, so a full pass takes longer. The table above shows the real age of every feed right now.
Why is the Steam price higher than the marketplaces?
Steam sells for Steam Wallet funds that cannot be withdrawn as cash, so skins usually cost more there than on cash marketplaces.
Why does a price show “est.”?
The real Steam listing looked fake (more than 2.5× the marketplace price), so the site shows an estimate instead. Check the Steam Market before you buy.
I found a wrong price. What can I do?
Email contact@cs2tradeup.gg with the item name and where you saw it. A single bad listing on a marketplace is usually gone after its next refresh.
