CS2 float checker
Paste a CS2 inspect link and see the exact float value, the wear it falls in, the paint seed (pattern), stickers and charm. Since the March 2026 update every inspect link carries the item data itself, so it is decoded here in your browser in an instant – no Steam bot, no API, nothing uploaded.
What the float checker shows
- Float value: the wear of the item, from 0 (best) to 1 (worst), with full precision. The bar shows the five wear brackets (FN 0–0.07, MW 0.07–0.15, FT 0.15–0.38, WW 0.38–0.45, BS 0.45–1) and, in white, the range this particular skin can have.
- Paint seed: the pattern index that places the finish on the weapon – what makes a blue gem or a full-fade.
- Stickers and charm: name, slot and how much of each sticker is scraped.
- Price and where to buy: one click to the skin’s page with the price for that wear on seven marketplaces, or straight into the trade up calculator with this float as an input.
Why the float matters for trade ups
The output of a trade up contract gets the average of the input floats, normalised to the output skin’s range. Ten inputs with a float of 0.15 produce an output at 15% of its range – Factory New for a skin that goes 0.00–0.70 (0.105), but only Minimal Wear for one that starts at 0.10. Check the floats of the skins you plan to put in, then see the exact outcome in the float guide or the calculator.
FAQ
How do I find the inspect link of a skin?
In your Steam inventory or on the Steam Community Market, open the item, click the small down arrow next to “Inspect in Game…” and choose “Copy inspect link”. In CS2 itself, right-click an item in your inventory and choose Inspect, then the link is in the item’s context menu. Marketplace listings (Waxpeer, DMarket, Skinport, CSFloat…) show the inspect link under each item.
Why does my link not work?
Links copied before March 2026 (the ones ending in S…A…D… followed only by digits) do not contain the item data and cannot be read without a Steam bot. Copy the link again from Steam or the game; every new link carries the float, seed and stickers inside it.
Is the float value exact?
Yes. The float is the 32-bit value stored on the item, shown here with its full precision. Marketplaces round it to 4–8 decimals.
What is the paint seed?
The paint seed (also called pattern index) decides where the finish is placed on the weapon: for Case Hardened and Fade it decides the blue, gold or purple shares, for Doppler the phase. It is fixed when the item is created and never changes.
What does the position within the range mean?
Every skin has its own float range. An AK-47 | Redline goes from 0.10 to 0.70, so a Redline at 0.15 is close to the best possible for that skin, while a skin that goes from 0.00 to 1.00 at 0.15 is ordinary. The bar shows where your float sits in the skin’s range and in the five wear brackets.
Does this upload my link anywhere?
No. The link is decoded in your browser. We do not store inspect links, Steam IDs or asset IDs.
