How to pick a marketplace
- Buying trade up inputs: compare first. Every skin page on this site has a live “Where to buy” table with the lowest listing on 12 marketplaces, and the calculator prices a whole contract per marketplace.
- Selling for cash: look at the seller fee and the cash-out method (the fee calculator shows what you keep on Steam and on each marketplace). Peer-to-peer markets (Buff.Market, White.Market, CS.MONEY market) pay more than instant sell, which pays below market value for speed.
- Trade protection: since 2025 Steam trades can be reversed for 7 days, so expect sale money to be held about a week on every marketplace.
- Safety: type the address yourself or use the links here; fake copies of popular marketplaces exist. Never log in to a site through a link someone sent you in a Steam chat.
How we rank and how we earn: we have referral deals with every marketplace on this page and may earn a commission when you sign up through our links; it never changes the numbers. “Our picks” are the partners we work with most closely; the rest are ordered by price (our data), Trustpilot rating and whether you can cash out. Price numbers come from our own feeds on 16,509 items: for each item listed on a marketplace and at least 3 others, the marketplace’s lowest price vs the median of the others (prices from $0.10, snapshot 2026-10-26). Facts come from each marketplace’s own FAQ, help centre and terms as read on 2026-10-26, and Trustpilot as shown that day. Spotted something outdated? contact@cs2tradeup.gg.
Related questions
What is the best CS2 marketplace?
It depends on what you do. To buy skins as cheaply as possible, SkinSwap had the lowest price of all tracked marketplaces on 56% of items in our data. For a peer-to-peer market with low fees, Buff.Market charges 2.5% to sell and nothing to buy. Skinport has the most Trustpilot reviews (35,287 at 4.8).
Which CS2 marketplace is the cheapest?
In our comparison of 16,509 items on 2026-10-26: SkinSwap (-5.6% vs the median of the other marketplaces), Tradeit.gg (-3.1%, on the items it stocks) and LIS-SKINS (-1.1%). Prices change all the time, so check the live “Where to buy” table on each skin page before you buy.
Which CS2 marketplaces let you cash out real money?
All 12 ranked marketplaces here except CS.TRADE, whose help centre says balance cannot be withdrawn as money. Most only pay out money you earned from sales, not money you deposited, and most hold sale money for about 7 days because of Steam’s trade protection.
Why are CS2 marketplace payouts held for 7 days?
Since 2025 Steam lets the sender of a trade reverse it for 7 days. Marketplaces therefore hold the seller’s money (or lock the item) until that window is over, so a reversed trade can be refunded to the buyer.
Are CS2 marketplaces cheaper than the Steam Market?
Usually yes. Across the marketplaces we track, the typical lowest listing was 7–22% below the Steam Market price for the same item on 2026-10-26, and the money you get from selling can be withdrawn, while Steam wallet funds cannot.
