Can you trade up StatTrak™ skins in CS2?
Short answer: Yes. A contract with 10 StatTrak™ skins of one rarity returns a StatTrak™ skin of the next rarity, and 5 StatTrak™ Covert skins return a StatTrak™ knife. You cannot mix StatTrak™ and normal skins in one contract, and StatTrak™ contracts cannot return gloves because gloves have no StatTrak™ version.
The StatTrak™ rules
- All or nothing: all 10 (or 5) inputs must be StatTrak™, or none.
- Output: always StatTrak™ if the inputs are.
- Gloves: excluded from a StatTrak™ 5-Covert contract – the pool shrinks to the case’s knives only, which changes the odds (our knife calculator does this automatically).
- Souvenir: Souvenir skins are not StatTrak™ and cannot be mixed with StatTrak™ inputs.
- Kill count: resets to 0 on the new item.
Is a StatTrak™ trade up worth it?
Often yes, because StatTrak™ inputs are frequently only slightly more expensive than normal ones while the StatTrak™ output can be worth 1.5–3× the normal version. No. Gloves have no StatTrak™ version, so a 5 StatTrak™ Covert contract only returns StatTrak™ knives.
Can you mix StatTrak and normal skins in a trade up?
No. The contract will not accept a mix.
Does StatTrak change the odds?
Only for knife contracts, where gloves drop out of the pool. For normal 10-skin contracts the odds are identical to the non-StatTrak version.
